Day 4: Hospital & Ukrainian Case for Canadian Pharma People
Morning of May 6 was devoted to hospital management. The group visited St. Michael Hospital which was founded back in 1892 and now it is known for its research and academic institution. Ms. Sarach Chow, the VP (Finance), Ms. Silvia Halliday, VP (HR) and Ms. Joan McLaughlin, leading expert in procurement and logistics talked about how the hospital is run.
In the afternoon the group visited Apotex Inc., the largest pharmaceutical company in Canada which operates in Ukraine as well. The Company’s management responsible for the international trade had a heated discussion with Ukraine’s healthcare leaders about how the Company functions in Ukraine. The findings of that meeting are planned to be implemented in June.
