Day 3: Oncology Diseases Prevention and Information Flows
The group spent the morning of May 5 at the Cancer Care Ontario. The Cancer Care people talked about cancer services in Ontario, prevention and screening, and quality improvement and standards. All the participants believed that Canadian experience is of great use in Ukraine.
Afternoon was spent at the Canada Health Infoway, information medical centre. The institution showed new possibilities in collecting, storing and safekeeping information about the patients. It is a large scale information project that faces a lot of challenges including technical, organizational and even psychological. But such centers are really a breakthrough in organizing the whole healthcare system.
